UpStreet: Talk About Praise

By ParentStuf / Posted on 13 February 2012

This month we are teaching our kids about the Big Idea of Prayer. This week we talked to them about how Jesus told us in the Bible to PRAISE God first. Sometimes when we pray we want to jump right into asking for things, but God wants us to stop and recognize him for all of the amazing things he has done.

Praise is our expression of admiration and appreciation for who God is. Kids can have a hard time putting words to their praise. This week around the dinner table talk about all of the different things you can praise God for.

Here’s a list to get your rolling:

  • He made the whole world.
  • He is so powerful and strong.
  • His love for us is perfect.
  • He made our bodies to do amazing things.
  • He is stronger than our enemies.
  • He listens to all of us.
  • He knows everything.
  • He created our highly detailed and amazing brain to run our bodies.
  • He made that beautiful rainbow you saw last week.
  • He knows everything about us.
  • He is perfect.
  • He’s never done anything wrong.
