Building pages and keeping them organized

Pages are what make a website! You're going to build lots and lots of pages, so it's important to keep them organized and named so you can find them later. In this section, we'll discuss how your site is currently organized and how to keep building pages.

1. create a new folder.

Click the plus sign in the Not Linked section and select folder from the page menu.

You'll then be prompted to name your folder. Name it using this formula: "Month Year - Environment". For example, "December 2017 - Preschool".

To see the pages inside the folder, click the arrow next to the folder name.

To rearrange the order of your folders, drag the name of the folder you want to move to the position in the list where you want it to be.

2. Create a new page inside the folder.

You have two options for creating a page.

Option One: Click the Add Page button inside the folder you want the page to live in. This is our recommended option.

Option Two: Click the plus sign at the top of the Not Linked section to add a page that isn't in a folder. You'll then need to drag that page into the folder it should live in to keep things organized.

In the page menu that opens, select page from the options available to start building a new page.

The create new page panel will open and give you the option to name your page and select a layout. To make it easier for you to find your pages later, we recommend naming your pages using the formula "Month - Page Title". For example, "October - Learn Your Memory Verse".

We also recommend starting with a blank layout.

Once you're ready, click the "Start Editing" button to begin building your page. Instructions on how to work in the page builder can be found in the managing content section
